Day off today so was hoping for a solid long session and oh yes the conditions delivered. Maxed on my 4.6, at times wishing I was on something smaller, but fine for most of the time. High tide so launching was a problem. Decided to try walking round to the point with my kit and launching from there straight into where it is windy, instead of swimming/drifting out over the rocks as normal. But walking round was if anything more effort than swimming/drifting, and I cut my foot on the rocks in the water there so won´t be doing that again.

Went out first at about 12.30pm but despite good conditions I was sailing crap and not making any gybes. Came at 2pm after struggling over the rocks again (grrrr....high tide....) to tend to the cut in my foot and eat another banana and then some yummy coconut cake from banana lady. After half-an-hour break went out again, this time without cutting myself on the rocks or making the existing wound any worse. Was sailing crap again at the start but things gradually got better, and towards the end I was getting round my gybes fairly consistently on the inside and even made one very wobbly but dry one in the huge swell on the outside. I´m really committing to the gybes a lot more now and they´re feeling much better, so hopefully it´s only a matter of time before a 5 star fully planing effort is achieved. In addition to my improved gybing at the end I became a lot more comfortable and confident with my sailing generally compared with earlier on, and the jumps started to come with a couple of whoppers being pulled out of the bag.

Was out on the water for over 4 hours in total, so now I´m an extremely cream-crackered but happy bunny.
